Skywalk is a seed-round stealth tech startup based in Palo Alto. We are pushing the boundaries of Artificial Intelligence and wearable technology, and integrating them into a new generation of computing platforms. We focus on creating wearable, audio-first devices that offer high-performance voice interaction anywhere, anytime. We are seeking a passionate and talented graduate and undergraduate-level interns from Computer Science and Electrical Engineering backgrounds to join our dynamic team in Palo Alto. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and engineering problems, contributing to developing our next-generation computing platform.Our innovative approach is centered around a new computer interface. Skywalk is looking for a full- or part-time data collection coordinator to join our crew for the next 3 months (option to extend), with an immediate start date!Skywalk is a seed-stage stealth startup founded by a group of 5 Stanford graduate students. We’re building a new generation of wearable devices that let people interact with computers in brand-new and exciting ways.Our Data Collection Coordinator will work with our team to test prototype devices and ensure collection of high-quality data on a weekly basis. This may include recruiting new users, implementing and conducting experiments developed by the Data Science team in a controlled fashion, and developing data QC pipelines.This position is a fantastic opportunity to build new interaction technologies and work with a fun team of experienced researchers. We look forward to hearing from you!Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and monitor tightly-controlled data collection experiments • Recruit new participants and assist with study design • Work closely with the Data Science team • Review collected data to ensure accuracy and completeness • Build QC pipelines for collected data to identify trends and anomalies • Report progress to the ML and Data Science teamRequired Qualifications: • Availability for in-person work at our Menlo Park office adjacent to the Stanford and Menlo College campuses • Ability to run controlled experiments with attention to detail • Strong interpersonal skills and communication • Ability to work independently and in a team environmentDetails: • $20 - 25 hourly compensation, depending on experience • Immediate start date • 3 month temporary contractor position with an emphasis on data collection • Option to extend into a software engineering role!Ideal (but 100% Optional) Preferred Qualifications: • Fluency in Python, statistical analysis, and data visualization • Experience with relational databases + SQL
